Who may enroll at Cal Prep?
Any student may enroll if a family resides in CUSD’s attendance boundaries or if a student has been granted an inter-district transfer from a neighboring district or county. If your child has an Individualized Education Program (IEP), please contact your child's Case Carrier regarding placement in an independent study school.
Please note: Online learning is not for everyone. It requires a great deal of self-discipline and self-monitoring, which are common characteristics of independent learners. Online classes also require a great deal of reading and interacting with others through the use of discussion boards and instant messaging.
Extra Curricular and Co-Curricular Programs
Cal Prep students have the opportunity to participate in co-curricular programs, extra curricular activities, athletic team sports, and fine arts programs (band, orchestra, theater) at their CUSD "home" high school, as per CUSD Board Policy. This is a unique opportunity that is not commonly available to students attending online schools. Audition and try-out requirements apply.
